Coming next: 'From Waste to Awareness in the Anthropocene'
Dina GoebelEco-Art Interventions Addressing 3D Printing Waste.
EXHIBITION DEVELOPMENT:
'From Waste to Awareness' explores the growing impact of plastic waste in an age defined by technological acceleration and environmental strain. As our oceans and coastlines increasingly bear the burden of synthetic pollution, this exhibition responds through art that transforms discarded materials into acts of renewal.
This work explores how visual art can respond to the environmental impact of 3D printing in the Anthropocene. With around 30% of PLA, ABS, and resin materials wasted, I aim to repurpose this plastic waste into creative artefacts that raise ecological awareness.
The project examines how artists can inspire behavioral change by positioning creative recycling as an intrinsic extension of 3D-print practice. Over 12-18 months, I’ll develop, test, and exhibit works that reveal new ways artistic innovation can transform technological waste into meaningful, sustainable engagement.
SEEKING COLLABORATIONS:
The artworks are environmentally focused with marine creature theme, and aims to build awareness of 3d-printing technology while showcasing a creative use for waste.
Working with 3d-printing industry partners, I will collect waste and transform it into thought provoking and educational exhibition to travel to participating galleries and showcases.
- Audiences will gain insight into both the 3d-printing industry and innovative waste transformation.
- Partners will participate in joint marketing opportunities highlighting waste reduction activities within their business and industry.

VISION to REALITY
My imagination of the artworks is still in the secret squirrel box for now ..
Imagine ..
Large jellyfish hanging from the ceilings, life sized giant kelp made of stacked supports, bodies of Victorian sea life immortalized as plastic (that's the Anthropocene paradox).
Imagine ..
3D printing information plaques, potentially 3D printers on display working, gift-shop items of fragile sea creatures.
Imagine ..
Turning 3d printing and its waste into desirable art forms, projects and products.
