Vitamin Sea - gallery exhibition

I'm delighted to be supporting Jacqui Christians solo exhibition 'Vitamin Sea' in for January 2026 at Stockyard gallery in Foster, South Gippsland Victoria.

Jacqui is a painter and her new collection of landscapes depicts observations of the coastal dunes and beaches, big skies and wonderful wetlands along the Bass Coast that have inspired and refreshed her love of painting landscape.

Jellyfish are not fish, but invertebrate planktonic marine animals. There are about 200 species worldwide and in Victoria, several species can be found. I have selected four species of jellyfish found in Victorian waters which are in their medusa (adult) phase.

By creating natural history specimens under glass domes, I aim to highlight the fragility of the natural world and provide a glimpse into the beautiful unseen creatures we risk losing.

This is, however, an Anthropocene conservation paradox.  To make these beautiful, delicate jellyfish I use an ABS-like resin, which is the same as the mass-produced consumer plastics polluting our oceans and endangering marine life.
