‘Abika Ladibird’ - One-of-a-kind hand sculpted art-doll by Australian artist Dina Goebel.
‘Abika Ladibird’ is a childhood favorite of mine … the colorful ladybird beetle. Today it reminds me of the 1960s swinging ponchos, mini dresses and that vivid wonderful ladybird orange.
Abika’s cape is hand-dyed hemp/silk fabric trimmed with mink fur, silk ribbon and glass beads. Her wings are digitally printed and beaded organza which can be opened into different positions; both the cape and wings are removable leaving this stunning model-esque insect in a glistening bronze mini dress. Made with air-dry & apoxie clay, alpaca hair and glass eyes.
36cm high, 12 cm x 8 cm wide, free standing sculpture
