‘Specimen Tiger Moth’ continues my childhood passion of collecting beautiful dead butterflies, beetles and pretty bugs and pinning them onto a specimen board. I found this little lovely in the tree in our street! She must have died still holding onto this beautiful chrysalis, so sad.

I have always liked to find tiny creatures in the bush around me, sadly dead fairies are becoming more common. With increasing pollution, disbelief and deforestation, our little friends are dying from unnatural causes more frequently.

This Little Tiger Moth Fairy is made from Premier stone clay, her wings and body are painted in rich acrylic paints and decorated with flowers and glass beads. Her dress is hand dyed fabric, trimmed in vintage flower lace, and she clutches a chrysalis nesting in rabbit fur. Her hair is a soft alpaca and she is ready to hang – sleeping peacefully immortalized for your collection.
